The Dragon’s Legacy Expedition is a fully supervised, British-led educational adventure designed for students aged 13–17.

The Dragon’s Legacy is a 10-day international adventure and leadership expedition in North Wales and Manchester. It combines outdoor challenge, cultural exploration, and storytelling to help young people develop confidence, resilience, teamwork, and leadership skills.
The expedition is open to students aged 12–17 at the time of travel.
No. All activities are designed to be progressive and inclusive. Students are supported by qualified instructors and encouraged to challenge themselves at their own pace.
Safety is our highest priority. Every activity is supported by detailed risk assessments, clear operating procedures, and qualified instructors. All activity providers are fully licensed, insured, and accredited.
XPLOR Academy follows a comprehensive safeguarding policy aligned with NSPCC guidance. All staff are fully safeguarding trained and background-checked. Transport and activity providers are vetted to the same standard.
Detailed emergency action plans are in place. Staff are trained to respond quickly, and local emergency services are used where required. Parents and schools are informed promptly.
The expedition includes climbing, water sports, hiking, and team challenges. Activities are designed to stretch students safely with instructor support.
Participation is encouraged, but student well-being is prioritised and alternative arrangements can be made if required.
Outdoor programmes are flexible. Activities may be adjusted or replaced to ensure safety while maintaining the experience.
Students stay at Plas Menai National Outdoor Centre in North Wales and an overnight hotel in Manchester, in shared under-18 rooms with staff in separate rooms.
UK transfers are provided by a trusted local coach partner. International flights are operated by Emirates.
The expedition is fully catered with three meals daily. Dietary requirements and allergies are accommodated when notified in advance.
Yes. All participants attend a preparation and kit-fitting event before departure.
All specialist activity equipment is provided. A detailed personal kit list is shared in advance.
Yes. The expedition focuses on leadership, communication, resilience, and reflection through real-world challenges.
UK ETA or visa fees are not included. XPLOR Academy provides supporting documentation.
Parents receive regular updates, photos, and highlights through official channels.
Yes. Students can contact home during designated times, balanced with immersion.
